Baage Bahu

Located on the outskirts of Jammu, Baage-Bahu, also known as the Bagh-e-Bahu or Bahu Fort Gardens, is a historic and picturesque garden complex that reflects the Mughal era’s influence on the region's landscape design. This site is renowned for its lush gardens, panoramic views, and historical significance.

‍The Baage-Bahu gardens are part of the Bahu Fort complex, which dates back to the 9th century and was expanded and renovated by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The fort and its gardens were strategically positioned to serve as a defense mechanism as well as a retreat, overlooking the Tawi River and the surrounding landscape. The gardens were designed to emulate the Mughal garden style, known for its symmetry, water features, and terraced levels.
